Carlos has worked as an organisational consultant within a systems psychodynamic framework since 2004, across diverse environments but particularly in mental health, higher education and the voluntary sector.

Previously, he trained at the Royal College of Art and worked as a graphic designer (FCSD), typographer (FiSTD), illustrator, printmaker and fine artist, while interested and involved with learning in higher education (FHEA), teaching design thinking at foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level.  He continues to contribute to the originally AHRC-funded Design Advanced Research Training national initiative, now based at Coventry University.

His current work is centred on experiential learning in groups, as well as directing and taking part in group relations conferences in the UK and abroad. Carlos is active in research, with a particular focus on the vicissitudes of translation in the process of knowing unconsciously when observing groups, making drawings and writing ethnographies.
