Leadership seminar series
A bespoke seminar series introducing systems-psychodynamic ideas to your workplace. The Tavistock systems-psychodynamic model seeks to offer a depth of perspective, learning and development that amplifies and supports leaders and teams’ abilities and potential. It can help teams to develop a deeper understanding of the often unacknowledged emotional and psychological aspects to work.
Our approach
Through this seminar series, teams become more aware of the ideas and concepts, enabling them to pay attention to what gets in the way of creative and effective collaboration, as a team or with key partners. This might include thinking about projective processes within the system, responses to authority or social defences as described by Menzies Lyth in her seminal studies.
Our seminar series blends key concepts from the Tavistock body of research and theory with facilitated work discussions to provide a creative space for groups to apply them. We build the series in consultation with you so that the sessions are directly relevant to your context.
We usually offer five or six 2.5 hour sessions with each consisting of theory, reflection and application. Links will be made to the realities of working situations and the ideas will build across the sessions.
Impact
At the end of the seminars, we hope you will have:
- an understanding of your individual and collective role at emotional, group and organisational levels, using the systems-psychodynamic approach
- enhanced your capacity to understand and respond to dynamics within the wider service and structure
- a shared language in relation to the systemic and psychodynamic concepts as applied to your context.
We will assess the impact of the series by way of our pre and post series online evaluation tool.
