Professional doctorate in advanced practice and research: Consultation and the organisation
An ideal course for more experienced consultants and practitioners looking to further develop their practice and conceptual framework, our professional doctorate in consulting to organisations also provides an opportunity to undertake scholarly research and contribute to the knowledge base in the field.
About this programme
Students on our doctorate are expected to develop sophistication in their professional practice by undertaking complex consultancy projects under supervision; they become familiar with contemporary thinking in the field and able to apply this to their work and develop advanced academic understanding by the exploration of a research question. Our doctorate students contribute to a growing body of knowledge about organisational consultancy from a systems-psychodynamic perspective.
Centred on the Tavistock systems-psychodynamic model of organisations, the programme includes taught modules, peer learning, workshops and participation research seminars and conferences, as well as individual supervision. Students also have access to on-line seminars and web based learning provided by the Tavistock and Portman and the University of Essex.
Programme overview
For more information on the programme as well as details of requirements and fees visit the course page on the Tavistock and Portman Website.
Students who not interested in studying for the full Doctorate but would still like to explore the application of the systems-psychodynamic model to their practice in depth may be interested in the Tavistock Qualification in Consultation.
