David is an experienced organisational consultant and executive coach who works with leaders on what it takes to keep work alive – sustaining meaning, purpose, and human connection in the face of pressure, change, and complexity. What often undermines this lies beyond strategy or skills, in the hidden dynamics that shape behaviour, relationships, and decision‑making.
His work spans executive and team coaching, reflective practice, leadership development and organisational diagnostics across the NHS, higher education, commercial and charitable sectors. Using a systems psychodynamics approach, he works at the intersection of the emotional, relational and systemic dimensions of organisational life.
Before moving into consultancy, David spent many years in higher education leadership, developing and leading a mental health advisory service using a systems psychodynamic approach.
David is curious about the future of work and the evolving interaction between people and technology. His work explores questions of authority, judgement and responsibility as AI enters organisational life.
David lectures on the Masters in Consulting and Leading in Organisations at the Tavistock Centre. Proudly dyslexic and passionate about learning, he has a particular interest in how identity and difference are seen and unseen in organisational life. He is a D10 graduate and an accredited BACP counsellor and supervisor.
